Welcome back. Today I am going to share with you my top 5 favourite drugstore products at the moment. I have been using these products daily and I just get on with them so much and really enjoy using the products and I do love them all very much. I would recommend all 5 of these for purchase and of course they are all so inexpensive as well which is always a bonus! Before I get on into the post I would just like to say a huge thank you for all your love and support on the post where I shared my bullying story. I cannot thank you all enough. I was so scared to upload that but you have all been so super lovely and supportive and I am so grateful. If you haven’t read that and you want to, you can here. Secondly I have just hit over a 100 followers on my twitter so that is great and I almost at 400 on my instagram. If you could give me a follow on both of those again that would be great and I would really appreciate it. I am on both those every single day and I love speaking to you all and making new friends, so I will leave the link to those at the bottom. Thank you for all your support. I do really appreciate it!!
Mega Volume Miss Hippie mascara – If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know I am a huge fan of L’Oréal Mascaras. I think they are incredible. They are such good quality but definitely are at a more affordable price compared to the high-end ones. I really enjoy using these on a daily basis and get alone with them so well. At the moment, the Mega Volume Miss Hippie mascara is my favourite. OMG! It’s insane. I actually only purchased this last week ready for my formal dinner and I was so impressed. It provides an insane amount of volume without clumping. Your lashes definitely look so long, really volumized and are spread out so evenly. I really cannot fault this mascara and it is only £7.99!
The Collection Lasting perfection concealer – Again this is an old favourite of mine. I have loved this concealer for a while and still love using it now. I will use s shade to match my face for any blemishes and then a lighter shade to hide my dark circles and highlight under my eyes. This concealer lasts and wears so well. It doesn’t crease under the eyes and provides a really good high coverage. I would definitely recommend trying these out. I believe they are £4.19 so really affordable.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – Another classic which I am sure you have heard people rave about. It is such a good powder. It really does set your makeup and prevent you from going oily throughout the day. It is very comparable to high-end powders but a fraction of the price. I would say it is a definite for if you are a beginner with makeup.
The Collection Velvet Kiss matte liquid lipstick – I have just been thoroughly enjoying this product for the past couple of months and been using it pretty much every single day. The colour I have (02 Caramel) is such an easy colour to wear and finishes any look off and they do last so long for the £2.99. You can’t go wrong. They are really drying even though they are matte and the application is super easy. Again, these are something that I would definitely recommend trying.
Burts Bee Lip balm – This is a holy grail product for me. I love Burts Bees product. They are so good. I get on with them so well and I love how moisturising they are and they smell amazing too. Always a bonus! Seriously though, I love these lip balms. Between these and the EOS lip balms they are the only ones I wear because they are just so good. LOVE them!!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have enjoyed this and found the recommendations somewhat useful. Let me know if you would like to see a high-end version of this or a drugstore makeup look, festival makeup look or my summer makeup. I have all these ideas planned but would love to know what you would all like to see! Please let me know in the comments. Also, if you have any good drugstore makeup recommendations then let me know because I am doing a Boots order so soon! I will see you all very soon. Much love,
Today I am super excited to share my GRWM with a formal occasion. For this I actually had my History and English Summer Ball and I had the BEST time. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed myself so much. I cannot wait to share with you my GWRM and then also some photos from the night. It really was a fantastic time and I am so glad that I went.
First thing I did in the morning was apply a face mask. I just wanted my skin to feel extra moisturised and clean and the best it could.
Later in the afternoon the first thing I did was moisturise my skin with the Clinique Moisture surge extended thirst relief gel cream. This stuff is insane! It is an expensive product but so worth the money!!
For foundation I used the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Bare Perfection in the shade Buff 26 and just used a brush to apply this all over my face.
Next was concealer. For any blemishes I had I used the Collection Lasting perfection in the shade 2 Cool medium and to highlight under my eyes I also used the Collection Lasting Perfection in the shade 1 Fair. I blended both these out with my beauty blender.
To set all of that makeup I just used my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent. I used a huge powder brush to just brush this all over my face but concentrating on my T-zone and also my eyelids to set the concealer for my eyeshadow and also under my eyes so my concealer wouldn’t later crease in the night.
For eyes I went for a pink look, so I used my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. First I took the shade Limit, which I guess is a light nude/brown shade and placed that all the way through my crease. I then took Nooner which is a darker version of Limit and placed that on the outer V on my eye to create some depth and dimension. I also dragged this slightly underneath my eyes. For the lid I used the shade Buzz, a lovely shimmery pink shade and for the inner corner I used High, which is a lovely white/pale pink toned highlighting shade (it’s so beautiful) from the Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette. I then took a fluffy blending brush and blended to ensure there was no harsh lines.
For eyeliner I used my L’Oreal Superliner Superstar in Black and just did a tiny line close to my lashes and then a wing on the end.
To curl my eyelashes I used my ELF eyelash curler and this just ensured my eyelashes were lifted and opened my eyes up even more.
Next I applied a coat of mascara. For this, I used the L’Oreal Miss Hippie Mega Volume mascara.OMG!! I am in LOVE with this product. It is so good! It is so inexpensive too. I believe it is only £7.99 from Boots and it makes the biggest difference to eyelashes. Definitely my new favourite mascara.
Then I applied some False eyelashes. This was actually my first time using false eyelashes and I was impressed. As it was my first time, I just used the Boots own brand eyelashes but they were great. They were so easy to apply, I had no issues whatsoever and they looked pretty. I will leave a link here for them so you can check them out because I actually forgot to take a photo of them before I used them haha! I am definitely a fan of false eyelashes now for sure!!
For my eyebrows I combed from the with a spooly before filling them in with powder. I used the shade Whisky from the Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette and then used my Benefit Brow gel to set them in place.
To finish my face makeup I used the Sleek cream contour palette in the shade light/medium and took shade 6 (the darkest) and used this to sharpen my jaw line and define my cheekbones.
Next I went in with highlighter. I used the ELF highlighter in the shade Half-baked which gives you a lovely summery/bronzed highlight. I just popped this on the tops of my cheekbones. By the way the pigment in these is crazy. They are really good. I really like them.
For blush I used the Clinique 07 sunset glow and again this was such a pretty colour. It works really well with the ELF highlighter too. They complement each other so well.
To bronze my skin I used the Collection Matte Bronze glow in the shade 1 Terracotta and just applied this to my forehead and any other places that would naturally catch the sun.
Finally, for lips I used the Essence lipliner in 06 satin mauve and then applied my Collection Velvet Kiss moisturising lip cream which is matte in the shade 2 Caramel. That was my makeup all done! I never usually wear that much makeup but it was a special occasion
For my hair I just simply straightened my hair with my GHDs. I love these. They really do keep my hair super straight which is a huge task.
My dress was from H&M, my heels were from Faith and my clutch bag was Nine West. I then popped in some earrings and a spritz of Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume and I was good to go!
Now for some photos from the evening! I really hope you enjoy!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have enjoyed this post. I was so excited for the post! It has definitely been one of my favourite to write and post! Let me know you thoughts and opinions in the comments below with any post requests and I will see you all very soon. Much love,
P.S.I have been posting tonne on my Twitter and Instagram recently and would really appreciate you checking them out please!
Happy May everyone. It’s that time again! With the beginning of a new month comes a favourites post from the previous month. So today I am going to be sharing with you everyone that I loved in the month of April.
Other things I have been loving having been Suits and 13 Reasons Why on Netflix. I have been watching Suits for a while now and I almost done with season 6 and I am so excited for the ending. For any of you who don’t know what Suits is, it is an American series about a law firm who hires a fraud (he practices law without having a degree in it). It is honestly so good and funny and I would definitely recommend it. I am planning on doing reviews for both these programmes so I won’t say too much here. 13 Reasons Why, I actually read the book years ago and was quite late to watching the series on Netflix because I was worried it wasn’t going to be as good as the book but it was fantastic and I watched the whole series within a day…ooops haha! I am sure you all know what this is about because there has been so much hype about the programme but it was good and again I will share more of my thoughts in my review post. Let me know if you would like to see that. This programmes hits quite close to home for me.
Lastly in April I have also enjoyed spending time with my boyfriend and going on day trips out.. again posts for those are coming soon. I am just so busy with uni and exams at the moment but they should be up so soon. I have just had the lovelies time with him and enjoyed going on trips with him. Of course I cannot to mention my birthday was also a favourite along with that! My birthday was definitely a highlight within April and a special thank you to my boyfriend for a lovely day and to everyone else who made it special. I really appreciate it and love you all!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have enjoyed reading and finding out about what I loved in April. Let me know what you have been loving also because I would love to know. Also, I got another piercing yesterday so let me know if you would like a post on my experience or if there is anything specific you want to see. Much love,
Today I have a very honest and deep Q&A! I get these sorts of questions a lot and so I finally thought I would take the time to answers. It is a different type of Q&A and a lot more personal and honest and I hope you enjoy.
Do you find it hard to manage blogging whilst having a part-time job and going to uni? – Simply the answer would be yes. Sometimes it can be so hard to balance my time between all three especially because being a full time-student and also my part-time job is full on. When I am break from uni I am usually working 30 hours or more at work so I am always super tired. Normally though I do manage to get a good balance between all three and manage to get in some of my own time and some socialising etc but yes it can be super hard. It is going to be so hard this next month as it is exam month! Ah – I am super stressed and worried for them!
What makes you feel like you can trust someone? – This one is difficult for me because I used to be a such a trusting person (naive as some may say) and just see the good in everyone and then obviously you have experiences in life and you find out not everyone is like you so now it takes a lot for me to trust someone. I would say a big thing for me is that someone can be open and honest with me. I think if I can sense that someone generally trusts me and wants to be around me and be my friends and takes a genuine interest in me then I feel like I can trust them.
What’s one thing you would change about yourself? – I think the one thing I would change about myself would be my thighs. I just don’t like them. They are just my least favourite part of my body but they are just fine the way the are and there is always something you aren’t completely happy with me but it’s all about embracing that and learning to love yourself flaws and anything.
Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? – I would consider myself an introvert. I am very shy and I don’t have a lot of confidence speaking and being in front of people or putting myself out there. However, I have gotten a lot better, especially since moving away to university and I definitely talk to people a lot more and do things I would have never have done or been to shy to do.
If you could go back to to anytime in your life and change something when it would be?– Personally I am quite happy with how everything has turned out. Of course I have had some really bad times and they were so hard and sad but I have also had some fantastic times and I am one those who believes everything happens for a reason and if I would have changed something then I probably be who I am today or where I am today. With that being said If I could something different it would be secondary school years. I wish I had been so much confident and wasn’t afraid to be myself and just didn’t care what anyone else thought because I actually couldn’t wait for school to be over with. They just weren’t the most fantastic years of my life and I went through a lot and experienced a lot but like I said it has made who I am today and I am better because of it. Of course as well there are times where I wish I had done stuff or said things and I didn’t or not said things or not done things or that I hadn’t been so scared and take more risks but then I always wonder that if I had done things differently would I be where I am today.
Do you believe in second chances? – Yes I do actually. I am definitely one of those people who give second chances. I think it is always so much easier for someone to say don’t give second chances and walk away but no one is perfect and sometimes we do make mistakes and we mess up and we all deserve a second chance. I mean of course I will have my limits where I just think enough is enough and that’s not something I want to give a second chance but I am a very forgiving person and I don’t like holding so even if it is something that I don’t think I would give a second chance, I will still forgive you for it. Otherwise I will just be holding onto something I can;t let go off and that’s just unhealthy and not worth it. I definitely believe though that more than once isn’t a mistake and is now a choice they have made so I am one for second chances but not someone who gives lots of chances.
What did your past relationship teach you? – Not be so naive. I was a naive young person and always saw the good in everyone and didn’t really think people could be mean and thought everyone was as nice as me or had the same sort of feelings and heart as me and people really don’t. I think it just taught me to be stronger and not be as trusting and just to take things steady and not to be your trust in someone straight away.
What is one of the most important things you have learnt so far? – That some people are brutal and some people will do anything to see you fall and be miserable. Seriously some people can be so cruel and rude, which I seriously don’t get. I don’t get why bringing someone else down makes you feel good about yourself. I really don’t get it. I don’t get either how people can be so mean and why they feel the need to pick up on certain things or comments or judgements. It’s not any of their business most of the time and isn’t their life, so even if it isn’t something you personally don’t agree with then okay that’s fine but it’s someone else’s life and someone’s decision. I really just will never understand all the mean and rude comments people will say to you and put you through and will never understand why people say those things but I have just learnt now that some people are always going to be mean and rude and would love to see you fail and you just have to realise you’re worth more than that and you are better than those comments.
If 10 year old you could see you now how do you think she would feel? – I think this is hard because you don’t necessarily have a plan and don’t know where you will end up or what you will be doing. I know for sure that what I wanted to do at 10 years old I am not doing now. However, I think she would be proud of how far I have come and how I have persevered through all the challenging and difficult times. I know for sure there will be moments where she would have wished I would have done things differently and I know for sure you would be made at me, for still even to this day, not believing I can have my dreams but for the most part I think she would be proud.
Thank you so much for reading and I really hoped you have enjoyed. I will see you all very soon. Much love,
P.S. leave requests in the comments or any answers to the questions but I always love finding out your answers!
Today I want to share with you my first experience and impression of Nandos. I know everyone thinks it has crazy that I have not already visited Nandos and tried the food there but to be honest I had heard quite a few mixed reviews. Some people I know absolutely love Nandos and would always go there to eat and some others thought it was okay but didn’t think it was that great. I really wanted to go and make up my own opinions on the place and I can say I am one of those people who actually does really like it.
First thing, obviously if you don’t like chicken then this isn’t going to be the place for you. I am not really sure as to why I have never tried Nandos because it does sounds so nice. Anyway, when I went the Nandos we went to one which had just had a fire so the soft drinks machine wasn’t working, but as you will all know, I don’t drink soft drinks anyway and just always order water., so that didn’t bother me. So the process is you obviously wait to get seated and then you look at the menu and decide what you want to order, then you walk up to the desk to with your table number and order your food and drink. You then walk to the drinks machine to get your drink, cutlery and any condiments you would like. I ended up ordering the 5 chicken wings in medium spice with 2 sides, one which was the peri-peri fries and the other which is garlic bread.
to say the restaurant was busy because me and my friend did go at around 8 on a Friday night, the service was decent and pretty quick. When my food arrived, I must say I was impressed. I had heard that the food portions were small, however, the portion I thought I was very decent and by the end I was so full. The food tasted really nice and I enjoyed everything that I had and I would definitely go back – in fact I have a date night on Saturday there so I obviously enjoyed it. I am so glad I order the medium spice because I am not someone who enjoys really spicey food but do like some spice to my food and medium was the perfect balance for me. The chicken was cooked perfectly and tasted really good, the chips with the peri-peri seasoning was great and I just love garlic bread anyway and that also tasted great. I didn’t have condiments with my food although next time I would definitely like to try them because some of them sounded so nice but as it was my first time I didn’t know what to expect and so just kept it simple.
Overall, I would say I am really impressed with everything. The quality of the food, the food service was all great. I really enjoyed my experience there and the food wasn’t too expensive I don’t think at all. My meal cost me £9.20 which I thought was really decent and I enjoyed my meal and would definitely pay that again. I am looking forward to going back and for my next experience and to try something else off the menu. I would recommend trying this place out for dinner.
If you have been to Nandos or are going to try it then let me know what you think to it and if you would recommend anything off the menu because I would love to know your recommendations. Also, if you have any other good food places for me to check out because I love trying new places. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post. I will see you soon. Much love,
Welcome back everyone!! Today I am sharing with you a few pieces of furniture and accessories which I would love to eventually be able to have one day in my dream closet. I don’t know about any of you but since I was younger I have always dreamt about having a huge walk-in closet where there was a nice rug in the centre and a few comfy chairs for you and your friends to relax whilst you got ready to go out. I have certainly always dreamt of having a closet like that, especially since I always use to watch films with princesses in when I was little and they would have these amazing closets. I cannot wait to design my very own perfect closet when I move into a house big enough!
For sure, my dream would to be able to have a walk in closet, with a chest of draws at the bottom facing you as you walk in. Then on either sides I would just have shelves and rails to hang all my clothes and put away all my shoes and handbags. I would have a beautiful chandelier hanging from the centre which would just light up my entire closet. As you can see I have chosen a chandelier which matches perfectly with the more neutral and minimalist theme I am going for, however, on Arhaus’ lighting section there are so many beautiful chandeliers to pick from to suit any style or decor and so definitely worth checking out.
Also, I would have a full-length mirror so that I could view my entire outfit of the day. I actually love these mirrors so much!! In the middle of my closet there would be a lovely sheepskin rug with two chairs for me and bestie to sit and chat for hours on end whilst we got ready or if I was feeling productive, maybe tidying my closet. In between the chairs there would be a small table with a beautiful lamp. Of course you can’t forget about the beautiful throw pillows and blankets to not only accessorize but as we all know, when we get chatting to our best friends about any decent conversations we are there for hours on end!! Need to stay comfy.
Ahhhh!!! If only!!It would be a dream to have that sort of closet and one day I hope I am lucky enough and have worked hard enough to have my dream home and closet! We can always dream! All the photos included in this post are taking from Arhaus, which is an absolutely lovely store and it sells the nicest things!! I love all the things that I have chosen and displayed at the top of the page and for sure would have them all in my dream closet. The colours would match so perfectly, look so cute and create a super clean and minimalistic look, which everyone knows is my sort of style! You should definitely check out their website and their Instagram page and have a look at what they have to offer, because seriously they have the cutest things. So pretty! Their Instagram is great if you are looking for a little extra interior design inspiration too!
Thank you so much for reading and I am hope you have enjoyed this slightly different style post. In the comments let me know what you would include in your dream closet or bedroom because I am so curious to find out! I love interior design and love decorating. In fact I have just gotten my room done for my birthday, so let me know if you would like to see a room tour!! Anyway, be sure to check out their website and Instagram I will have them linked down below and thank you so much for all your continued support. You are all amazing and I love you all. Much love,
Since the weather has been getting nice in the UK and it is finally starting to feel like Spring, I thought I would share with you one of my simple and easy to wear Spring Outfits. It’s super easy and casual and I just always find myself wearing something like this during the spring.
Featured in the photo:
Blue denim high-waisted super skinny Jeans from Primark
Black and White striped sleeveless turtleneck from Primark
Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch
Daisy Perfume by Marc Jacobs
Additionally, to go with this outfit I would usually wear my Adidas Superstar trainers, a black leather jacket if it is a bit colder, my Gucci sunglasses and typically I will have my hair in a half up style with the top half in a messy bun. In terms of any other accessories I don’t really wear much jewellery so I would just add a handbag of choice. At the moment I have been obsessed with using my Jack Wills bucket bag. It is just the perfect size to fit all your essentials but still not too big. It is definitely my go to Spring bag and one which I think will be perfect for my vacation to Florida as well.
Thank you so much for reading and I hoped you enjoyed reading. Let me know a few of your Spring staples in the comments below. I will see you all very soon. Much love,
