Welcome back to my blog. It has been so long since I lasted posted on here and I am so sorry about that. I have been so busy with working and also with university as well. Second year was definitely a lot tougher than the first year but now that I am done with uni and ready for summer, I am looking forward to blogging more. An update post on my time at university will be coming soon but, in the meantime, I have been doing a tonne of travelling and so I have decided to share with you all some of experiences over the past couple of months. I visited Miami in April, and I have decided to split my trip into two blog posts. One will talk about my experience of Miami Beach and one will talk about my experience of staying in the city itself and all the fun stuff we got up to whilst experiencing Miami from two entirely different perspectives. Today, I am going to be sharing the part of my trip where we visited South Beach. Miami beaches are famous around the world and so I was excited to spend the day at the beach.
To start off our day we went for breakfast at a cute little restaurant/café called Jalapeno Mexican Kitchen. The food here was actually really good – a lot better than I expected. Most of the breakfasts were around $6-9, which was so good considering the quality of the food and the portion you were given. The best part about breakfast was sitting outside in sunshine looking out towards the beautiful beach. The view was absolutely INCREDIBLE! If you are looking for somewhere to eat which is reasonably priced but good quality food then I would definitely recommend trying this place out.
After a lovely breakfast (well technically brunch) in the sun, we then strolled down the promenade next to the beach. It was lovely to stroll in the sun alongside the beach as well. Almost half way down our walk we went onto the beach and spent a little time relaxing on there and enjoying our time in the sun. We then just finished our walk down the promenade to Loews Miami hotel which is was such a lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. The hotel is stunning and the rooms are really nice especially if you can get an Ocean View room because honestly the view is AMAZING, I cannot even tell you. Also, they offer incredible facilities and the hotel also has private beach access which is really nice and super convenient. The location of the hotel is fabulous as it is located near Ocean Drive and also Lincoln Road Mall.
Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road Mall are the main shopping experiences around South Beach. Ocean Drive is super close to the beach front and has a lovely selection of shops and restaurants to chose from. Although, I preferred Lincoln Road Mall which has wonderful section of shops and restaurants which are fancier and a nicer standard in my opinion that the ones of Ocean Drive. Ocean Drive of course is iconic because of its appearance in movies but I would suggest heading to the other shops as well if you have time. If you love a beach holiday then the beaches in Miami are lovely but I was just happy to go for the day myself. I like being by the beach but when I go on holiday I like being active and exploring.
Overall, I had a great day exploring Miami and I really hope to get back one day. It is such a wonderful city with lots to offer and some beautiful beaches if you love just relaxing on the beach and lying in the sun.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you liked this little post on my experience of visiting South Beach. I know I visited for the day but I really like documenting all of the travelling I do and the experiences I have. Let me know if you have ever been to South Beach and what your opinions or recommendations are for everyone reading this. Until next time – much love,
